Lisa Morris set up lotusbaby yoga in 2005 from her studio in London Fields where she taught classes for Pregnancy, Postnatal Recovery, Mum and Baby and Tots Yoga. Birth prepartion classes were held for couples to help them incorporate the yoga they had learnt into their birth plan.

At the end of 2007, Lisa move lotusbaby into Yoga Place, and has been enjoying the opportunities that she is able to offer students during these special times, of pregnancy and childhood.

We currently run 3 Pregnancy Yoga Classes during the week; Tuesday and Thursdays at 10am and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm and one weekend class on Saturdays from 10.30am to 12pm.

It is recommended you do not start these classes until you are 12 weeks into your pregnancy.

There are Baby Yoga Classes on Wednesday at 12.30pm, (from new born to crawling) followed by tea and cake at 1.30pm, where mums can catch up with each other.

Birth Preperation Workshops are held once every 6 weeks and are a one off session for couples where the yoga learnt in class will be put into a birth story context, to help mum and partner through each stage of labour with movement and breath. All the details on this workshop including dates can be found on the workshops page!

Therapy Room at Yoga Place - We also offer complementary therapies to help you through your pregnancy, labour, and early motherhood. We also offer Craniosacral Therapy, which is very beneficial to newborns.  Please scroll down for further details on this, and click on the Therapy Room page for information on our physiotherapy, acupuncture and Ayurvedic treatments.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) during Pregnancy - CST can help with adapting to the myriad of changes the mother goes through during pregnancy. Pressure on the spine, compression in the abdominal and pelvic area, organ function stress, fluid retention, blood pressure, headaches and general fatigue.

  • CST can help relieve sinus congestion and fluid build up that can show itself in the later stages of pregnancy.
  • CST can bring more of an awareness to the processes going on in your body and help you cope with the changes and allow for a closer connection to your developing baby.

Craniosacral Therapy for Mother and Baby - Birth itself is a traumatic enough experience for both mother and baby and there can be possible added complications - stress and compressive issues could show in the baby's early development.

  • CST can help resolve these problems and offer a boost to the on-going expansion and balancing of the baby's systems. The soft bones of the head are pressed and moved during birth but they don't always return to the optimal position after birth. CST can help align these bones into their natural relationship. Caesarean births and those involving forceps or suction are also more likely to lead to compressive symptoms. Which could include colic, sucking problems, sleep issues and respiratory difficulties. With difficult births, the baby could have been overwhelmed by the experience and be in a state of shock. This memory can be held in the baby's system causing hyper sensitivity and distress.
  • CST can, by its gentle approach help bring the little one through these issues and back on the dynamic road of development. It can help resource both Mother and Baby during the amazing formation of a new life.
