Create a Self Practise

We will begin the workshop with pranayama, breathing techniques, to aid deeper, more conscious breathing, and why that breath is at the core of our practise. We will then go on to deconstruct the sequencing of a class and understand why they are structured the way they are. We will practise a basic sequence which will include all the elements imperative to your practise, warming the body intelligently before moving deeper and ending in savasana.
This will include important alignment tips, of moving safely between ‘closed’ and ‘open’ hips, warming up sensitive or tight areas before stretching them and building stability and balance through both strength and flexibility in your practise.
We will finish by exploring how to overcome challenges that prevent us from getting on our mat, creating a time and space in a ritualistic way for your practise daily.

Yoga for Runners and Cyclists

Anyone familiar with my classes will know I love teaching a dynamic sweaty class-here let me guide you gently through a much slower paced vinyasa flow practise using lots and lots of props. Although much slower than usual this class will not lose any of the intensity or integrity to our faster flows. We will be spending much longer than usual warming up through the muscles and tissue and using props to remain in postures for much longer than usual to aid a deeper, maintained stretch.We will work through a standing series focusing on balance and building strength and stability in the ankles and shin areas affected by deep impact exercising before we go on to stretch the hamstrings, glutes, hips and lower back.

Open to all level of practitioner and particularly beneficial to those who partake in high impact exercises
